What impact can your estate plan have on your post-death relationship of your family? Think about it if you have two children and in your estate plan you make one child responsible for giving out the financial benefits of your estate plan. Are those siblings going to continue getting along? If you give one thing to one person and they thought that they were supposed to get more or something like that will it impact their relationship? It very well could. You have to think about these things when you’re naming trustees or personal representatives or been of beneficiaries for beneficiary any of those things and when you sit down and talk to a lawyer make sure you’re telling them the dynamics of your family as is, so that you can plan for potential shifts in relationships or how what your decision is could impact those people in the future.
